Job summary

Sussex Wildlife Trust invites applications for a part-time Food & Beverage Assistant at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre. Join our café team to deliver excellent customer service, assist with drinks, food prep and take-away duties, and help maintain high hygiene standards.

Ideal candidates will be friendly, able to work weekends and holidays, and comfortable operating a barista machine and till. This zero-hours role offers flexible working and a chance to contribute to SWT’s mission.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude, professionalism and respect for others.
• Confident working on a barista coffee machine and the till.
• Available weekends and holidays, including occasional bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the café team delivering excellent customer service and helping to develop customer loyalty.
• Carry out food preparation, make drinks, serve customers, clear tables and clean (including restrooms).
• Waste management and other kitchen and café duties as required.
• Ensure compliance with all food hygiene regulations and procedures in front and back of house.

The Role

To work alongside the café team in the delivery of excellent customer service, helping to develop strong customer loyalty. Carry out food preparation, making drinks, serving customers, clearing tables, cleaning (including restrooms) waste management and other kitchen and café duties as required. Ensure compliance with all food hygiene regulations, adherence to processes and procedures both front and back of house. This could be in our café and our take away outlet.

The Person

We are looking for the perfect candidate to come and join our friendly team. Positive attitude, professionalism and respect for others. Confident working on a barista coffee machine and the till. Able to work in a fast pace environment. Available weekends and holidays, including occasional bank holidays.
