Wentworth Club, a premier private Members Golf and Country Club, invites applications for a Food & Beverage Assistant. You will welcome Members and Guests, deliver exceptional service, and assist with the daily preparation and service of food at the Halfway Hut, upholding the highest hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position within a luxury 5-star environment is desirable.
• Excellent personal presentation with a warm and welcoming personality.
• Confident and dynamic communicator, able to interact effectively with all levels of an organisation.
• Enthusiastic and positive personality with ability to build trusting relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent knowledge of all menu offerings and provide exceptional service to Members and guests.
• Communicate politely and professionally with Members and guests.
• Appear on time and be correctly dressed for duty.
• Prepare service areas and ensure readiness for operation.
• Maintain cleanliness and correct food & beverage stock on a daily basis.
• Resolve complaints politely and involve the Outlet Manager when needed.
• Advise management of shortages or problems as they arise.
• Ensure stock requirements are requisitioned daily and food temperatures meet legal standards.

Job description

Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members Golf and Country Clubs, famous for its outstanding three Championship golf courses, in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club. The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.

As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring our Members receive a warm and friendly welcome and any queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. You will be expected to deliver exceptional service to both Club Members and Guests alike, keeping good cleanliness, and health & safety at the front of all you do.

We will rely on you to wow our Members and make them feel special by delivering exceptional service and being a great team player. As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you will assist with the daily preparation and service of food within the Halfway Hut. Ensuring, that the highest hygiene standards are maintained at all times, and that customer environment is always presented to the highest standard.

Full time, 40 hours a week including weekends

Key Areas of Activity:

• Ensure excellent knowledge of all menu offerings and be able to deliver and provide all Members and guests with exceptional service.
• Always deal with the Members and guests in a polite, pleasant, and professional manner.
• Ensure that you constantly present yourself on time and are correctly dressed for duty.
• Ensure that all services areas are ready for operation at the correct time.
• Constant overview of the daily operation to include, but not limited to, cleanliness, food and beverage product, service delivery, clearing tables, and sufficient mise-en-place.
• Resolve any complaints in a polite and professional manner and ensure that the Outlet Manager is notified.
• Advise the Assistant F&B Outlet Manager of any food shortages or any problems, should they arise.
• Ensure that stock requirements are requisitioned on a daily basis.
• Ensure that food products are kept to the correct temperatures as required by law.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a similar position within a luxury 5-star environment is desirable.
• Excellent personal presentation with a warm and welcoming personality.
• A confident & dynamic public speaker, able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of an organisation.
• Enthusiastic and positive personality with ability to build trusting relationships with others.
• Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
• Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.
• Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and always maintain colleague and guest confidentiality.
