Job summary

Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant to join the Truly Talented team in a busy hotel environment. You will work with the leadership team to ensure smooth service, guest satisfaction and high standards across food and beverage outlets.

Qualifications

• Truly passionate about the hospitality industry and guest service.
• Experience in a fast‑paced restaurant or bar is preferred but not essential.
• Maintains high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene at all times.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and a team player mindset.
• Right to work in the UK is required before starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving beverages requested by guests.
• Ensuring tables are set and ready for guests at all times.
• Taking and delivering guest orders in a timely manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness across Food & Beverage outlets.
• Liaising with Front of House and Kitchen teams on guest needs and dietary requirements.

The Hotel Indigo, London, Clerkenwell is a new build hotel in the design led Clerkenwell area of London. The hotel will be 168 guestrooms incorporating Architect and Goldsmith rooms alongside Clockmaker suites. The rooms' design have a link with industries that have a local connection. The hotel will have an all day dining restaurant, a lobby bar and it is connected to a traditional grade 2 listed pub named the Hat and Feathers which sits proudly on the corner of Goswell and Clerkenwell Roads.

We are currently looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant to join our Truly Talented team.

Your role

You will work closely with the food and beverage leadership team in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the Hotel and the satisfaction of guests.

Responsibilities of Food & Beverage Assistant will include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and serving any beverages requested by guests;
• Ensuring that all tables are set and ready for welcoming guests at all times;
• Ensuring that all guests’ orders are taken and executed in a timely manner;
• Ensuring that cleanliness is kept at the highest standards at all times in the Food & Beverage Outlets;
• Having good knowledge of the food and beverage menu;
• Responding to guests’ queries on the menu selection;
• Communicating any guests’ questions on the menu, the length of wait and product availability with the Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams, as well as any additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the teams accordingly.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting.

The core skills and experience required to succeed

• Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry;
• Previous restaurant or bar experience in a busy environment is preferred but not essential;
• Excellent personal presentation;
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures;
• Ability to function independently with a minimum of supervision;
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing ;
• To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.
