Withington Girls’ School, the Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is seeking a well-qualified and experienced Food and Nutrition Technician to join this successful independent girls' day school.
The Food and Nutrition Department comprises two staff members, including the Head of Department, supported by the Food and Nutrition Technician. All Key Stage 3 students are taught Food and Nutrition in half-class sizes for one double lesson (70 minutes) during half the academic year. The food room has recently been refurbished and is equipped with specialist resources to support the curriculum. Students currently achieve 100% grades 7 to 9 in AQA GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.
The Food and Nutrition Technician provides technical support to teachers and students to ensure the department runs smoothly. Full details of the role and responsibilities are available in the Job Pack.
The position is available from September 2025, requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term time plus 2 weeks (to be worked during school holidays as agreed). Working hours are typically 08:30 – 16:30, with additional hours for events like open days and evenings.
The salary is on point 12 of the Support Staff Pay Scale, equivalent to £26,061 per annum full-time. The actual salary for this part-time role (30 hours, term time plus 2 weeks) is approximately £17,480 per annum.
