Hearst UK is looking for a Tester to join the Good Housekeeping Institute within the Food & Drink category.

This role involves testing a variety of food and drink products, including Christmas mince pies, hampers, red wine, and vegan protein powders for editorial and commercial purposes. You will also conduct research into products on the marketplace and consumer trends as needed.

The testing content spans multiple Hearst brands such as Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Esquire.

Our product testing, built on decades of expertise, influences purchasing decisions and assures consumers of quality and value.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Handling multiple projects with effective time management and organization.
  • Organizing and conducting taste test panels with consumers for commercial projects.
  • Managing, analyzing, and summarizing data using Excel.
  • Communicating testing results clearly to stakeholders.
  • Maintaining a proactive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Coordinating product deliveries with the team.
  • Suggesting innovative ideas for testing and process improvements.
  • Participating in training to improve skills and tools usage.
  • Adapting quickly to new tools and processes, contributing to process development.
  • Conducting product and market research to inform testing strategies and stay updated on market trends.
  • Checking editorial proofs, artwork, factual information, processes, and stockists.
  • Occasionally providing video content for the website.

ABOUT YOU

  • Interest in food and drink products, including basic cooking skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with problem-solving abilities.
  • A mature, flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to handle high volumes of work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Honesty and objectivity in opinions.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous experience in hospitality is desirable.
  • Experience with alcohol tasting is desirable.
