Job Title: Civil Engineer - Flood and Coastal Projects

Location: Peterborough, Midlands, UK

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Job Description:

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in flood and coastal projects to join our expanding team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will lead technical work related to civil and structural engineering problems within fluvial and coastal environments, supporting various environmental improvement projects from concept to detailed design.

The role involves working on traditional consultancy projects as well as design and build initiatives alongside our joint venture partner, one of the region's largest contractors. Candidates should have a strong technical background, proactive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and construction teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support engineering projects, including options appraisal, concept design, and detailed schemes.
• Contribute to project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven UK consultancy experience, preferably with the Environment Agency.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, geotechnical, hydraulic design, and flood risk management.
• Experience in project/task management, meeting deadlines, and controlling budgets.
• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); professional membership of ICE or CIWEM preferred.
• Full UK driving license.

• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with relevant design codes and software.
• Organized with high attention to detail.
