Food and Beverage Team Leader - National Theatre

Food and Beverage Team Leader | National Theatre London
£30,882 per annum

NT Food & Drink is a unique partnership between the NT, Levy UK&I, and KERB Events. We are creating a world-class hospitality destination within the National Theatre’s operations, supporting all venues and events aligned with the NT’s vision and values. The venue features three iconic theatres and is located on the South Bank.

The Theatre Bars and Cafes department includes the Atrium Café, Grind coffee and cocktail bar, six theatre bars, and the Foyle Room members' bar.

Purpose

As a Team Leader, you will oversee operations in our Theatre Bars or Café, ensuring high standards of customer service and quality. You will lead, supervise, and motivate the team, providing visible leadership and engaging with customers to deliver a world-class hospitality experience.

Responsibilities
  • Drive hospitality standards in operations, ensuring team training and high-quality service
  • Manage stock levels, place orders, and perform stock counts
  • Conduct briefings and supervise team members
  • Be a responsible key holder and report maintenance issues
  • Handle customer feedback and queries
  • Delegate tasks and ensure proactive team performance
  • Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar high-volume venue role
  • Previous supervision of frontline teams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Ability to work under pressure positively
