Job summary

Warner Hotels is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor for Lakeside on Hayling Island. The role leads service shifts, coaches teams, and maintains high hospitality standards to deliver memorable dining experiences. You’ll work closely with managers to ensure smooth operations across restaurants and bars.

The position emphasizes guest engagement, incident handling, and upholding health, safety and cash handling procedures while driving upselling opportunities and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food and beverage or hospitality operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards – Level 3 food safety certificate desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and guide a team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-shift leader across the department and monitor service delivery.
  • Serve as the main guest contact during the shift and handle queries, VIPs, and special requests.

Join our team at Lakeside, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This hotel on Hayling Island has spa facilities, a cabaret restaurant, and overlooks a lake near the Hampshire coast.

Salary 28,594 per annum

Warner Hotels are recruiting for a Food & Beverage Supervisor. This key role within our Food & Beverage team is responsible for leading service shifts, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and supporting the smooth operation of our restaurants and bars.

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor at Warner Hotels, you'll be the face of hospitality during your shift, leading from the front to deliver outstanding service. You'll support, coach, and motivate your team, maintain high operational standards, and ensure every guest enjoys the warm welcome and memorable dining experience that Warner Hotels is known for. Working closely with managers and team leaders, you'll help drive service excellence while creating unforgettable moments for our guests.

Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
  • Act as theon shiftleader across the department.
  • Monitor operational standards and efficiency in all areas.
  • Coordinate with department managers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide onshift support and guidance to teams across all departments.
  • Reallocate resources during busy periods tomaintainservice levels.
  • Motivate teams and lead by example with a positive, collaborative approach.
Guest Service & Experience
  • Serve as the main guest contact during the shift.
  • Handle queries, complaints, VIPs, and special requests professionally.
  • Maintain visibility in public areas to support engagement and satisfaction.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to H&S regulations, hygiene standards, and company policies.
  • Act as the person responsible for emergency procedures, fire safety, and first aid.
  • Complete incident reports and elevate as needed.
Financial & Commercial Awareness
  • Monitor upselling opportunitiesacross F&B and retail.
  • Ensure correct cash handling and billing processes.
  • Support cost control while protecting guest experience.
Communication & Reporting
  • Conduct thorough shift handovers to ensure smooth continuity.
  • Prepare shift reports on key events, feedback, and challenges.
  • Communicate urgent matters to senior leadership promptly.
  • Liaise withorganisersand internal teams to ensure requirements are met.
Problem Solving & Crisis Management
  • Take decisive action during emergencies or unexpected issues.
  • Coordinate teams tominimisedisruption and ensure guest safety
Behaviours,Skills& Experience
  • Previousexperience in food and beverage or hospitality operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards–Level 3food safety certificate would be desirable
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
