Job summary

Parkdean Resorts UK Limited is seeking a Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen teams across our parks. You will prepare and present dishes to our standards and support the head chef during service.

We offer training across 65 parks, employee discounts, wellbeing support, and a friendly, team‑oriented environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is important.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume food preparation or cooking is preferred.
• Able to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dishes to company specifications, maintaining high standards of cookery and service.
• Keep your section and the wider kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic during service.
• Check and record food temperatures accurately according to company procedures.
• Complete food prep before and during service and restock as needed.
• Assist with portion control and minimise food waste to maximise profit.
• Receive, check and store deliveries, rotate stock and follow safety guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to support a positive work environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures including allergen policies and incident reporting.
• Carry out deep-clean tasks as directed by the Head Chef.

What you will be doing...

• Preparing and presenting dishes to company specifications, maintaining excellent standards of cookery and service.
• Keeping your section and the wider kitchen clean, tidy, and hygienic throughout service.
• Checking and recording food temperatures accurately, following company processes.
• Completing food prep before and during service, and restocking as needed.
• Supporting portion control and minimising food waste to help maximise profit.
• Receiving, checking, and storing deliveries safely, following stock rotation and food safety guidelines.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with the whole kitchen team to support a positive working environment.
• Following all health & safety procedures including allergen policies, hygiene standards, correct equipment use, and incident reporting.
• Completing deep‑clean tasks as directed by the Head Chef.

About you...

• Experience in high‑volume food preparation and cooking (preferred but not essential for the right candidate).
• The ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
• A passion for producing great food and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• A Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
