Job Description:
Summary

You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service in various outlets. This includes basic food preparation, high-quality food and beverage service, cash handling, cleaning, stock control, and other duties to ensure smooth operations. Flexibility may require working in different areas across the department or university.

Main Duties
Customer Service
  • Greet and serve customers professionally, respond to queries, and handle situations to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Build rapport with customers and encourage feedback.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
Business Requirements
  • Prepare basic food and beverages to quality standards.
  • Manage stock rotation, adjust orders, and ensure food is used before expiry.
  • Report equipment failures and hazards promptly.
  • Follow portion control and record wastage.
  • Adhere to HACCP, allergen, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with transportation of goods following safety protocols.
  • Operate EPOS terminals, handle cash securely, and perform end-of-day procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of equipment and work areas.
  • Assist with ordering and stock takes as needed.
  • Comply with licensing laws when serving alcohol.
Team Work
  • Upsell products and support sales initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development.
  • Support colleagues and attend meetings.
  • Engage in personal development reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including driving university vehicles.

Operational Requirements
  • Work on an annualized contract for 36 hours/week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable; training provided.
