The role of a Food and Beverage Assistant at Avery Healthcare involves supporting the dining service and assisting residents with their meals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service, maintaining cleanliness and presentation, and catering to the dietary requirements of the residents.

Main duties of the job
  • Support residents with choosing their meal options.
  • Set dining tables according to standard operating procedures.
  • Keep the dining areas clean, tidy, and well-presented.
  • Replenish fresh homemade cakes, biscuits, finger food, and fruit throughout the day.
  • Be aware of and cater to the dietary requirements of the residents.

About the role

  • Your focus as a Food and Beverage Team Member is to support the dining service and assist residents with their meals.
  • Other responsibilities include: supporting residents with choosing their meal options when dining.
  • Ensuring that the standard operating procedures set dining tables.
  • Keeping the front of house clean, tidy, and well-presented and ensuring dirty crockery is removed and replenished throughout the day.
  • Ensure fresh homemade cakes/biscuits are accessible in the bistro areas and replenished throughout the day, as well as finger food and fresh fruit options.
  • Being aware of residents’ dietary requirements.

About You

  • Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable in all you do.
  • Demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Experience in a similar setting, such as a restaurant or hotel, would be desirable.
  • A basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering culinary services to residents.
