Job description

A legendary location. A warm welcome. Gather now in Glencoe.

One of the family...

The clue is in the name. We’re a family business through and through – family owned, family run, with a warm family welcome for guests and team alike. Our seven hotels are unique and set in three stunning Scottish locations. Some are big, some are small and all offer good food & drink, great beds and a ton of outdoor and indoor things to do and a fun place to work.

The Kingshouse Hotel

The Kingshouse Hotel is part landmark hotel, part adventurers’ bunkhouse, slap-bang in Glencoe and on Scotland’s world-famous West Highland Way. We have 57 bedrooms offering a tranquil night’s sleep, as well as the Bunkhouse, offering shared rooms. Everyone is welcome and everyone is made to feel at home in our truly special Hotel.

Our Estate-to-Plate ethos runs through our menus across our restaurant and two bars. Inspired by our unique location and Scotland’s abundant land and sea larder, we use the best of ingredients to guarantee our guests an exceptional experience, brimming with Scottish hospitality and flavor, while they experience a customer service which lives up to these standards too.

About the role

You’ll bring every bit of your personality to look after guests in our restaurant, bars or at one of our function events. You’ll be an expert on our menus, suppliers and local area – don’t worry, we’ll tell you everything you need to know.

What we need from you

  • Customer service – a friendly, welcoming personality is a given.
  • Enthusiasm - a true passion for hospitality, along with your genuine smile and desire to get it right for the customer.
  • Team focus – there are no egos here, just hard-working people who love creating memorable experiences for every guest.
  • Fun and easy to talk to – we’re looking for personality, not a corporate clone.

What you’ll get from us

  • The opportunity to work in a friendly, forward thinking company with development as a priority – could you be our next Food and Beverage Supervisor?
  • Internal career opportunities among a wide range of roles, departments and branches.
  • Opportunities to apply for our Be A Leader development program.
  • Unique benefits including pension contributions, recommend a friend initiative and our cycle to work scheme, allowing you to buy a bike tax-free.
  • We are open to having a conversation with you around flexible working, both full-time and part-time, to work together and establish the hours that best suit you.
  • Discounts on leisure memberships, hotel activities, Action Glen, retail, and food and beverages.
  • Team Rate rooms at all of our hotels – where will you choose to explore on your days off?
  • Live in accommodation on-site may be available and is inclusive of bills.

Getting here

We’re only a 40 minute drive from Fort William and 1 hour from Oban

For those wanting to use public transport, you can catch a bus just five minutes from the Hotel. Buses also go from here to Glasgow/Edinburgh or North through the Highlands to Inverness – a couple of hours either way. There’s up to eight a day in summer and a few less in winter so good for getting away on your days off.

Please note, this opportunity does not qualify for sponsorship. To be considered for this role you should already have a right to work in the UK.
