Job summary

voco Zeal Exeter Science Park is seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant to contribute to a memorable dining experience for guests. You will assist with food and beverage preparation, service, and maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards in a fast-paced hotel environment.

The role supports events and daily operations within our 4-star hotel, offering opportunities to grow in hospitality, sustainability initiatives, and team-based rewards.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of food and beverages with a smile.
• Maintain dining areas clean and well-organised per health and safety standards.
• Provide excellent guest service, addressing enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Support the wider F&B team with setup, restocking and inventory tasks.
• Help coordinate and run events and special functions.
• Ensure all areas are well-stocked and presented to a high standard.

£12.71 per hour, range of contract available from 8 hours to 40 hours

Do have a passion for hospitality and customer service? As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our guest experience — delivering attentive service and helping create a genuinely memorable dining experience, every time.

The Role

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages, efficiently and with a smile
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining areas, in line with health and safety standards
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest enquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally
• Support the wider Food and Beverage team with operational duties — setting up and clearing tables, restocking supplies, and assisting with inventory
• Help coordinate and run events and special functions
• Keep all areas well-stocked and presented to a high standard at all times

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar hospitality role is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
