Job summary

Lichfield Garrick Theatre requires a proactive Follow Spot Operator for its Christmas Spectacular running from 20 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. This fixed-term contract begins 16 November 2026, with work across six days per week from 08:00 to 23:00 (up to three performances daily).

You will work under the lighting designer and LX/DMS teams, contributing to a high-energy theatre show and supporting show resets as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate follow spot as part of the lighting team.

Job Description

After a record-breaking panto run last year, Lichfield Garrick Theatre is gearing up for the return of its ever-popular Christmas Spectacular with Robin Hood.

This year’s panto promises hilarious comedy, beautiful costumes, fantastic music, magic and mayhem, and is scheduled to run at the Garrick from the 20th of November 2026 to the 10th January 2027.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our panto team as a Follow Spot Operator. This will be a Fixed Term contract beginning on the 16th of November 2026 and ending on the 10th of January 2027. You will be working across 6 days a week between 08:00 and 23:00 (up to 3 performances per day).

Duties include:

• Working as a follow spot operator as part of a the lighting team
• Working under the direction of the lighting designer
• To create a follow spot cue sheet
• To follow cues as given by the DMS or LX team
• To assist in show resets where required, under the supervision of the Stage Manager

Essential Requirements:

• Strength working as part of a team
• Previous operation of a Follow Spot
• The ability to follow instructions and adhere to all Health & Safety requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A friendly positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time-keeping

Key Dates:

Technical / Dress Rehearsals: 16 Nov - 20 Nov

First Public Performance: 20 Nov

Final Public Performance: 10 January 2027
