A leading arts venue in London seeks a Folk Programmer to manage and develop its folk events and programming. This part-time role involves collaboration with artists and the programming team to enhance the venue's brand and audience engagement.
The Folk Programmer is responsible for the planning and management of folk events within the Kings Place programme. This includes overseeing key projects, festivals, series, co-promotions, and hall rentals, from initial scheduling to managing existing relationships with artists such as Artistic Associate Alan Bearman Music, as well as identifying new partnerships.
The Folk Programmer works closely with the Artistic Director and the wider programming team to develop the artistic content at Kings Place. The role involves producing an annual folk programme that is of the highest quality, creatively exciting, financially successful, and capable of growing audiences while enhancing the unique Kings Place brand. Since 2008, Kings Place has established itself as a leading arts venue in folk programming, showcasing established artists like Karine Polwart, Sam Lee, and Julie Fowlis, as well as supporting emerging artists through initiatives such as the Future Folk series and the annual Folk Weekend.
Salary: £32-36k (pro-rata), depending on skills and experience.
Contract Type: Part-time, 3 days per week, hybrid role.
