Job summary

Lancashire Constabulary is seeking an Information Access Officer to join the Information Access team in a role requiring careful handling of information under data protection and FOI regimes.

The role involves processing enquiries, assessing information requests, and interrogating ICT systems to prepare accurate disclosure materials within set timescales. Hybrid working, solid attention to detail, and knowledge of relevant legislation are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and other relevant legislation, including Human Rights
• Working knowledge of information disclosure issues
• Experience of interrogating relevant ICT systems to administer and process checks with high accuracy

Responsibilities

• Process correspondence/enquiries in line with procedures for handling and disclosure of information under Data Protection and FOI
• Identify and assess information applications relevant to individuals or organisational records
• Interrogate databases to collate information for disclosure, applying exemptions and confidentiality within agreed timescales
