Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is recruiting a Retail Supervisor for Defence operations in Taunton. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) involves supervising a frontline team, handling till duties, and coordinating weekly rotas to ensure smooth service.

Ideal candidates will have prior supervisory experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. Training and progression opportunities are available within the group.

Responsibilities

• Check and store deliveries promptly and correctly.
• Supervise a team and create a welcoming, supportive environment.
• Act as a responsible key holder.
• Operate the till, take orders and receive payments.
• Assist with weekly bookwork and other duties as needed.
• Produce weekly rotas following manager guidelines.
• Place orders to maintain stock levels.
• Delegate tasks and keep the team proactive.
• Comply with Food Handling and Hygiene standards.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations.

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Retail Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities may include:

• Ensuring all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly
• Supervising a team, creating a positive environment where the team feel welcomed and supported
• Being a responsible key holder
• Using the till, taking order and receiving payments
• Assisting with weekly bookwork and any other duties that are necessary
• Producing weekly rotas following the manager's guidelines
• Placing orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels
• Delegating where necessary and ensuring the team are proactive at all times
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations

Our ideal Retail Supervisor will:

• Previous experience supervising frontline teams within a similar environment
• Good communication skills with a focus on great Customer Service
• Team player and can-do attitude
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude
