Job summary

Automation Experts is expanding in the UK and seeks an experienced FMCG engineer to lead business development and automation strategy. The role blends technical automation knowledge with strong customer relationships to grow the UK operation from a home-based base across the Liverpool–Gloucester corridor.

You will identify opportunities, shape solutions with international teams, and help build a local engineering team while travelling 20-30% internationally where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG or related process manufacturing with customer-facing credibility.
• Strong industry understanding and ability to develop new business relationships.
• Commercial potential and growth mindset prioritized alongside technical know-how.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with key customers across FMCG, especially food & beverage.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process solutions by understanding challenges.
• Use network to open doors, develop opportunities and drive growth.
• Collaborate with international engineering teams to shape solutions and support delivery.
• Help define UK growth strategy and recruit/develop a local engineering team.
