Job description

Our client is a leading name within investment management. Due to an exciting period of change and transformation, they are now looking to recruit an FMA on a contract basis initially. The FMA will be brought in to focus on Business Change.

The FMA – Business Change will take responsibility for supporting change in all Investment’s asset classes, as well as supporting and enhancing the growth and efficiency of the EMEA and APAC Portfolio Management teams.

The FMA – Business Change will take responsibility for the following duties:

• Supporting Investments on projects that have an impact on Investments, driven by regulation, business development, changes to operating models or other drivers
• Representing and assisting Investments on product launches, client onboardings or any other product specific change events
• Supporting the Investments Business Change Manager to establish the priorities for the Investments department and see that those priorities are delivered
• Liaising with departments across the firm to ensure that key Investments priorities are delivered
• Providing general support to the Investments Desk Heads and Asset Class Heads
• Aim to assist in strengthening controls across the Investments teams to ensure that the agreed processes are working as expected
• Remaining up to date with any regulatory developments and changes (such as Responsible Investing and Libor transition) that directly impact the Investment teams
• Attending and participating in Internal IT and BRS (Blackrock Solutions/Aladdin) meetings to prioritise
• Supporting and inputting to relevant working groups, advisory groups and other committees as appropriate
• Monitoring the spend against budget, control of variances, interaction with the consuming desks and escalation and resolution of any issues arising
• Maintaining and updating any policy and procedure documents as required

The FMA – Business Change will meet the following credentials:

• Background as an FMA or Portfolio Manager’s Assistant
• Strong portfolio management and dealing process knowledge across a variety of all asset classes
• Well-developed general knowledge of the operations of an asset management house
• Product knowledge across asset classes
• Good knowledge and experience of Aladdin functionality
• Advanced Excel skills
