Job description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

BAM FM is recruiting for a Cook to be based at Bromsgrove Schools and based at Meadows First and Parkside Middle School.

Available Shift Pattern:

25 hours a week, Monday-Friday
9.30am - 2.30pm - Monday - Friday
Term Time only.

Pay: £12.65 per Hour.

Your mission

  1. Preparation of meals: cook food in accordance with agreed recipes/methods.
  2. Prepare ingredients for meals.
  3. Adhering to current HACCP and food safety regulations & procedures.
  4. Ensure that clean and dirty processes are kept separate.
  5. Preparing food for chilled and/or hot transportation when required.
  6. Decant and/or serve food where required, operate cashless till system.
  7. Use current management system to maintain food safety records.
  8. Refill and replace consumables.
  9. Assist Kitchen Manager to monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies.
  10. Treat all customers with courtesy and consideration.
  11. Work safely around the kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues.
  12. Maintain accurate stock levels, including kitchen materials.
  13. Assist in achieving financial targets set out by Catering Manager.
  14. Assist in managing waste through correct product measurement.
  15. Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training & by attending courses.
  16. Always adhere to all company policies & procedures.
  17. Be involved and contribute to team meetings.
  18. Carry out all instructions given by the Project senior management team & kitchen manager.

Who are we looking for?

  1. Experience of working in a catering environment & within a team.
  2. Experience of cooking/food preparation for large numbers.
  3. Willingness to gain recognised catering qualification.
  4. Level 2 Hygiene Certificate - Desirable.
  5. Knowledge of health and safety good practice in the kitchen.
  6. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  7. Good ICT - Desirable.
  8. Ability to use relevant equipment.
  9. Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions.
  10. Awareness of COSHH regulations.
  11. Good communication skills.
  12. Knowledge of health and hygiene procedures.
  13. Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities.
  14. Desirable to have a current clean driving licence and a willingness to drive.
