As a Service Manager (Facilities Management) at Hinkley Point C, you’ll be at the heart of a once-in-a-generation development, where your strategic thinking and operational expertise will help shape the future of low-carbon energy in the UK.

This Facilities Management role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of essential services that support the entire Hinkley Point C construction site. As Service Manager, you’ll oversee a wide range of critical functions including catering, accommodation, cleaning, waste management, and other site-wide support services.

The Opportunity

At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. This is your chance to take ownership of a vital area of the HPC construction site, leading the planning and delivery of essential support services.

Reporting to the Construction Support Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of your assigned area, from strategy to execution, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will be the technical expert and leader, providing insight to keep the project on track and aligned with its goals.

You will be required to be on-site at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater site.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

The salary range for this role is competitive. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a company pension scheme and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. These include enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle leasing, health insurance, product discounts, critical illness insurance, technology vouchers, gym memberships, and season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility and recognize that everyone’s working needs are different. Whether you’re in the office, on-site, or working remotely, we promote collaboration, connection, and comfort. Our priority is to ensure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming for a workforce that reflects a broad mix of backgrounds. We support your application and are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments if needed. We foster a dynamic, inclusive environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the delivery of critical site services supporting a workforce of around 12,000 people, ensuring seamless operations across a complex construction environment.

With a team of EDF staff and contractors reporting to you, you’ll oversee service contracts valued up to £150 million, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities include managing operations, enabling cross-functional collaboration, making key decisions, and building stakeholder relationships. You’ll monitor KPIs, resolve delivery challenges, and drive performance to ensure services are delivered on time and within budget.

Your background includes working in high-security, high-hazard environments such as construction sites or industrial plants, demonstrating resilience and foresight. You have led multidisciplinary teams and delivered results in large projects. Your strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and collaborative approach set you apart. Certifications in behavioral safety or IOSH are a plus, but your commitment to learning and proven delivery are most important.
