Flys (Automation) Senior Technician - Covent Garden
Type: Permanent contract
Hours: Full time; 42.5 hours per week
Salary: £44,714.88 (Grade D) per annum
Location: Covent Garden, London
The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead in opera, ballet, music, and dance, both on stage and through digital platforms such as live streaming and worldwide cinema screenings. We aim to share these artforms widely, enriching the cultural life of the nation by increasing public enjoyment and appreciation of ballet and opera.
Our Technical, Production, and Costume Department ensures the highest quality performances through technical excellence during performances, rehearsals, and events. We are seeking a Senior Technician to join our Flys team.
The role involves working as part of the Flys Team to ensure operational and production requirements of rehearsals and performances are met with the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. Following our recent upgrade, the RBO has collaborated with Tait to develop and launch the EpiQ Automation Control system, positioning the RBO as an industry leader in Automated Flying. The RBO maintains a fully automated Flys system while applying manual flying principles. Training will be provided on our specific system, but automation experience is essential as a foundation.
