Job Title: Flux Core Welder

Location: Rosyth, Fife

The role

As a Flux Core Welder, you will be part of an exciting engineering project, bringing your technical skills and safety attitude to the table. You will work with a supportive team to carry out welding activities in a production environment supporting the Type 31-unit build, from piece part creation to ship assembly.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Performing welding tasks according to specified variables and conducting visual inspections of welds to meet standards.
2. Maintaining welding equipment and reporting faults immediately.
3. Setting up and removing pre-heating equipment safely.
4. Using digital and thermal temperature recording devices.
5. Handling processes such as GSFCAW, SAW, grinding, pre-heating, visual inspection, and managing welding consumables.
6. Passing a medical questionnaire and/or examination as a condition of employment.

This is a full-time role, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on-site at Rosyth, Fife.

Essential experience:

• Indentured Welder
• Understanding of weld defects and causes
• Setting up welding equipment and accessories
• Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)

Qualifications:

• WPS adherence
• Indentured Welder
