Role Overview
Fluid System Engineering Service supports the activities of engineers in the Fluid Systems team, including system design, integration, documentation, and analysis related to instrumentation, control, and mechanical design. Responsibilities include:
- System design and integration into HPC design
- Producing, reviewing, and updating system documentation for mechanical and thermos-hydraulic designs, operator instructions, HMI, safety, environmental, and control logic
- Performing analysis for I&C functional requirements and logic production, including writing functional requirements, detailed diagrams, test procedures, and logic descriptions
- Sizing components such as pumps, fans, pipework, relief valves, tanks
- Conducting thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling
- Ensuring 3D models align with system design
- Formulating equipment specifications and supporting procurement through technical documentation and surveillance
- Stakeholder engagement to ensure multidisciplinary requirements are met
- Contributing to best practices, innovation, process improvements, and knowledge sharing activities
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' process engineering experience
- Relevant experience within the nuclear industry
- Strong workload management skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
- Proactive, confident in remote communication, and able to foster positive working relationships
