FLT Yard Operative in Milton Keynes

Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced FLT Yard Operative in Milton Keynes to join a busy and well-established commercial recycling business. This is a hands-on role based outdoors — no household waste involved — offering a great opportunity to secure a permanent position after a successful probation period.

Location: Milton Keynes (own transport required due to location)
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 6 pm + every other Saturday, 6 am – 12 pm
Job Type: Temp to Perm (permanent after 3-month probation)

Key Responsibilities

• Booking in and weighing lorries on arrival and departure
• Managing the movement and safe storage of recyclable materials
• Keeping the yard clean, safe, and well-organised
• Ensuring all activities comply with health & safety regulations
• General yard duties and outdoor housekeeping tasks
• Previous experience in a yard or waste management environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Team player with a proactive and safety-first attitude
