Job summary

Dovecote Park Ltd in Pontefract is seeking a FLT/Yard Operative to support daily logistics in our Yorkshire operation. You will perform forklift checks, load and unload trailers, weigh products for dispatch, and help maintain yard cleanliness while following safety procedures.

This permanent role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7am–4pm), onsite parking, and access to staff facilities. A valid FLT licence and reliable transport are required.

Qualifications

• Valid FLT licence holder.
• Experience in food industry is advantageous but training will be provided.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily forklift pre-op checks.
• Load/unload trailers and move goods around site.
• Weigh and record products for dispatch.
• Remove waste to recycling area.
• Check and log pallet intake.
• Temperature checks and record in system.
• Prepare and wash yard areas, keep site clean.

Role: FLT/Yard Operative
Rate: £13.01 per hour
Contract:Permanent
Location: Pontefract, WF8 3DD

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm

About you:

• Previous experience within the food industry is advantageous but it is not essential! Full training will be given.
• Valid FLT Licence
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must have own transport
• Flexible in your ability to work on your own or within a Team
• Enjoy working to targets

Role:

• Daily pre-op checks on the forklift
• Loading and unloading trailers and moving items and produce around the site
• Weighing and recording products for dispatch and disposal
• Remove rubbish to the recycling area
• Check and record intake of pallets
• Temperature check orders and record on internal system
• Prepare and pressure wash and chemical wash yard areas
• General housekeeping
