Job summary

Momentum Training is recruiting an experienced RTITB/Lantra-accredited Forklift Truck Instructor to join our Northampton training centre. You will deliver Counterbalance and Reach Truck training, assess learners, and help them gain industry qualifications to improve employment prospects in warehousing and logistics.

This is a full-time, permanent role with Monday–Friday hours, ongoing professional development, and the chance to contribute to a growing national training provider.

Qualifications

• RTITB or Lantra Forklift Truck Instructor accreditation.
• Experience delivering Counterbalance and Reach Truck training.
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations and workplace health and safety.
• Confident delivering both practical and classroom-based training.
• Able to motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RTITB or Lantra-accredited Counterbalance and Reach Truck training.
• Provide classroom-based and practical forklift training.
• Assess learners in line with RTITB standards and requirements.
• Complete learner assessments, records and course documentation accurately.
• Maintain a safe, professional and organised training environment.
• Carry out checks and ensure training equipment is maintained safely.
• Support learners throughout their training programme, from induction to qualification.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Work with colleagues to support learner engagement and progression.
• Ensure training delivery meets quality, compliance and funding requirements.
• Promote safe working practices and health and safety standards.

About the Role

Momentum Training is looking to recruit an experienced and RTITB-accredited Forklift Truck Instructor to join our Northampton training centre.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Counterbalance and Reach Truck training, helping adult learners gain recognised industry qualifications and develop the skills needed to progress into employment within the warehousing and logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• Current, valid RTITB or Lantra Forklift Truck Instructor accreditation.
• Experience delivering Counterbalance and Reach Truck training.
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations and workplace health and safety.
• Confidence delivering both practical and classroom-based training.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds.
• A professional, reliable and positive approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider training team.

Desirable Requirements

• Recognised teaching or training qualification, such as AET or equivalent.
• Experience working within a further education, adult learning or commercial training environment.
• Experience supporting unemployed adults or learners with additional support needs.
• Knowledge of funded training programmes and learner compliance requirements.
