Floor Layer – Stevenage Borough Council (via Hays Recruitment)
Location: Stevenage
Hourly Rate: £ - £ per hour
Hours: 37 per week (Monday–Thursday 8am–4pm, Friday 8am–3:30pm)
Contract Length: Until 15 August 2025
Start Date: Immediate
Full driving licence requiredHays is recruiting for an experienced Floor Layer to join their Building Safety & Property Repairs team.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and repair vinyl (cap and cove), lino, laminate, and carpet flooring.

Prepare and level floors using latexing and screeding techniques.

Work across a variety of domestic and public buildings, including sheltered housing and care homes.

Support major refurbishments, new builds, and responsive maintenance.

Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless project delivery.

Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service.

Essential Requirements:

Immediate availability.

Proven experience in wet room/bathroom vinyl and kitchen vinyl laying.

Latex floor preparation experience.

Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Experience working in local authority or public housing settings preferred.
