A dynamic facilities management company is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative in Spencers Wood. You will support Buildings and Civils works, implement safety standards, and assist with New Works. Ideal candidates will have experience in Carpentry, Painting, and general maintenance. The role offers a salary up to £36,000 plus allowances, flexible working hours, and numerous benefits including holidays and development opportunities.

Job description

As the Buildings & Civils Multi-Skilled Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks to satisfactory completion. You must be keen, enthusiastic, and willing to learn from your immediate supervisor.

  • Support the team with all Buildings and Civils works.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and standards to maintain operational activities and provide high-quality service to the customer.
  • Assist in the implementation of a programme of planned New Works across the contract to ensure a high standard of service.
  • Respond quickly to short-term issues arising from existing contracts and tasks.
  • Conduct daily operations to the highest standards to satisfy and maintain company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all site and company safety standards, considering legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Be fit and willing to undergo specific training for working within controlled areas, including radiological and beryllium areas.

    Good all-round knowledge of Building and Civils is advantageous.
  • Experience in Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Groundworks, and general building maintenance is desirable. Ability to establish, implement, and monitor high standards of quality, safety, and operational performance.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to duties and work independently when needed.
  • Be willing to train, update, and improve skills for the benefit of the contract.
  • Nice to have: PASMA (or willing to train), IPAF (or willing to train).

Salary: Up to £36,000 + Onsite Allowances. Working hours: Week 1 Monday to Friday 07:45-16:30 (16:15 finish on Friday); Week 2 Monday to Thursday 07:45-16:30. Benefits include 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays, additional 26 days off, Holiday Buy Scheme, Discount Shopping, Gym, Days Out, and extensive Learning & Development opportunities including progression.
