Job description

Here at Fortem, we're currently recruiting for a Floor Layer to join our Stonewater Housing team, covering Chippenham, Bath, Bristol, and the surrounding areas. This is a permanent, full-time position on a social housing contract.

You will be covering a patch around Stratford Upon Avon and surrounding areas, so travel is essential.

The Client

Our contract with Stonewater is long-term, with the option to extend the partnership. We cover over 7,500 houses across four areas of the South-West, including Taunton, Yeovil, Bristol, Swindon, Salisbury, and Bournemouth. We deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works, and an Electrical Service program. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, supported by a senior leadership team with extensive sector experience, which can help you develop your skills and knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Floor Layer, you will ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal supervision. You will take ownership of your work, aiming for 'First Time Fix' on all jobs, operating within health and safety guidelines, and adhering to budget and time constraints. You will be courteous and professional around tenants. Your role involves carrying out flooring maintenance, including laying vinyl flooring, with experience in cap and cove, and knowledge of wet rooms.

What You Will Need

Essential criteria:

  • NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent / or qualified by experience
  • Vinyl floor laying experience, including cap and cove, and knowledge of wet rooms
  • Full UK driving license (max 5 points)

Desirable:

  • Social Housing experience
