Floor Covering Installer

Location: Cambridge, ON

Workplace: On site

Salary: $24.00 per hour, 30 to 35 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time

Starts: As soon as possible

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
• Language: English
• Work must be completed on site; remote work not available

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
• Prepare flooring plans and schedule work
• Prepare and install hardwood floors
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
• Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
• Estimate costs and materials
• Prepare floors for installation
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
• Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
• Install materials on countertops and raised platforms
• Install vinyl decking materials
