Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Technician within the Infrastructure Planning Team in the Environment and Transport Department to support the flood risk management function and the Lead Local Flood Authority responsibilities.

The role covers assessing consent applications under the Land Drainage Act, responding as statutory consultee in planning, visiting sites, and coordinating data management for flood risk, with a focus on meeting deadlines and stakeholder engagement in a busy

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject or experience.
  • Engage with customers, stakeholders and elected Members.
  • Knowledge of Flood Risk Management, Civil Engineering, water management and GIS/data management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; concise written advice.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and targets.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel countywide.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering Lead Local Flood Authority statutory responsibilities.
  • Assist in assessing consent applications under Land Drainage Act and respond as statutory consultee.
  • Carry out site visits and meetings with residents, contractors and landowners.
  • Provide data management support for flood risk management within the team.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and manage own workload to deadlines.
