Job Description:

We are currently working with one of the world's leading environmental and engineering consultancies, with over employees worldwide. They are looking to add Flood Risk Consultants at various levels in Hayward's Heath, West Sussex. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience, from graduate level to Principal and Associate.

The role involves providing site-specific and strategic flood risk advice related to development, land use planning, and flood risk management projects. The company emphasizes sustainability, resilience to climate change, and employee development, operating across nine countries.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Flood Risk Assessments (England) and Flood Consequence Assessments (Wales)
  • Providing planning advice related to flood risk and drainage
  • Supporting technical assessments using hydraulic modelling
  • Developing flood risk mitigation solutions
  • Managing project delivery within budget and timeframes
  • Collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Preparing proposals and supporting business development
  • Mentoring junior staff

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in geography, science, or engineering
  • Chartered status (CIWEM or ICE) preferred for senior candidates

Essential attributes include experience with FRAs/FCAs, hydraulic modelling, UK planning policies, report writing, work-winning, and project management skills. Desirable attributes include drainage strategy experience, hydrological analysis, mentoring, leadership, and client relationship skills. A full UK driving license is advantageous.
