Hydrology Consultant

We are a leading environmental consultancy who specialise in ecology and hydrology, with offices located in the Midlands, South Manchester, and Sheffield. The specialist team are dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges across the UK. We are currently seeking a Hydrology Consultant to join our growing team. You could be based in many locations across the West Midlands, Nottingham, Manchester and Sheffield.

As a Hydrology Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality consultancy services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting flood risk assessments to support planning applications and development projects.
  • Undertaking Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Developing drainage strategies and designs for a variety of projects, ensuring sustainable and effective water management solutions.
  • Preparing environmental permitting applications in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including ecologists and engineers.
  • Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to provide expert advice and guidance.
  • Producing clear, concise, and accurate technical reports and documentation.
  • GIS Mapping for flood risk and ecology projects.

You will have the chance to join a supportive team and training will be provided from a local office.

Candidates will be expected to have a degree in hydrology, environmental science, civil engineering, or a related discipline and experience in conducting flood risk assessments and/or drainage design. You will also be expected to have experience using GIS and have familiarity with the Water Framework Directive Assessments and environmental permitting.

You will also be expected to have a valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
