Hydrologist

We are a leading environmental consultancy specialising in ecology and hydrology, with offices located in the Midlands, South Manchester, and Sheffield. Our dedicated team delivers innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges across the UK. We are currently seeking a Hydrologist to join our growing team in Manchester.

As a Hydrology Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting flood risk assessments to support planning applications and development projects.
  2. Undertaking Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  3. Developing drainage strategies and designs for various projects, ensuring sustainable and effective water management solutions.
  4. Preparing environmental permitting applications in line with regulatory requirements.
  5. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including ecologists and engineers.
  6. Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to provide expert advice and guidance.
  7. Producing clear, concise, and accurate technical reports and documentation.
  8. Utilising GIS mapping for flood risk and ecology projects.

You will have the opportunity to join a supportive team, with training provided from a local office. Candidates should have a degree in hydrology, environmental science, civil engineering, or a related discipline, and experience in flood risk assessments and/or drainage design.

Additionally, candidates should have experience using GIS, familiarity with WFD assessments and environmental permitting, a valid UK driving license, and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
