Job Description:

We are working with a leading multidisciplinary professional practice in the UK, specializing in the built environment, to add a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to their team in Bedford.

The company is an employee-owned firm with nearly 60 years of experience across three offices in Bedford, Birmingham, and London, employing around 80 staff. They offer integrated services in architecture, engineering, planning, and surveying for various development projects.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Working on residential and non-residential projects across the UK, from private developers to national house builders and masterplanning schemes.
  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for planning applications.
  • Developing Surface Water and Foul Water Drainage Strategies for planning support.
  • Liaising with the engineering team, clients, and third-party consultants or council officers.
  • Using Microdrainage/Flow software for drainage modeling.
  • Contributing to site masterplans to incorporate drainage and flood risk considerations.

Person specification includes:

  • Relevant degree (desirable).
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Drainage and Flood Risk regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microdrainage/Flow, Microstation/AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Experience required:
