Qualifications

Job description

My client, an innovative, environmentally-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their specialist team of consultants and design engineers, based near the multi-cultural, easily-accessible town of Swindon.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or other relevant field
  • Demonstrable commercial experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), drainage strategy reports, and working with Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (namely S38, S102, S104), and their applications in the industry
  • Competent in the usage of MicroDrainage WinDES, AutoCAD, and other relevant software packages
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills

It would also benefit applicants to have:

  • A full UK driver's licence
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard planning and technical guidelines, including the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), CIRIA SuDS Design Manual, Sewer Sector Guidance, and Building Regulations

Role Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and submitting Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports
  • Producing planning applications for various projects
  • Conducting research and authoring reports based on findings
  • Producing drawings and plans using AutoCAD and InfoDrainage
  • Visiting sites and attending team meetings
