Job description

The starting rate for this position is $19.07, with incremental increases based on developing skills and qualifications.

Summary

Under the direction of the pullet or production lead, complete required documentation and perform tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Request needed safety supplies, materials, parts, etc., from designated department procurement stakeholders.
  • Be prepared for DNR or customer audits at all times with proper procedures and documentation for all activities.
  • Enter data into DBF spreadsheets.
  • Train in animal welfare and security practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience in a production agricultural environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be self-directed.
  • Must be organized.
  • Ability to track and document all activities with correct forms and paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of agricultural operations is preferred.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Good attendance record with a flexible schedule.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
  • Must enjoy working closely with animals.

Physical Demands

Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop; lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies with outside conditions. Moderate noise level. Proper personal protective equipment required during certain conditions.
