Job summary

Discovery, a not-for-profit organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism across Somerset and Cornwall, is seeking Floating Support Workers to join our Peripatetic Team in North Somerset. You’ll work across homes and services with flexible, person-centred support wherever it’s needed most.

No prior care experience is required; we’ll provide full, paid training and opportunities to complete recognised qualifications.

Qualifications

• Driving licence, access to a car and business insurance essential.
• No prior care experience required; a caring approach and willingness to learn.
• Full, paid training and opportunities to complete recognised qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful, trusting relationships with adults with learning disabilities.
• Support people with activities they enjoy, at home and in the community.
• Encourage independence and confidence in daily living.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as meals, finances and personal care.
• Support individuals who use wheelchairs or communicate non-verbally (full training provided).
