Floating Support Worker Wanted!

Location: Pan London - Free license to arrange your own diary

Day 1 - West: Hillingdon & Hounslow.

Day 4 - North: Enfield.

(Then repeat) 80% in the community, 20% in the office. You can choose Hackney or Lambeth.

Social Care Assignment: 1-2 Months initially with likely extension.

Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00-17:00.

Must have an enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months (or on the update service).

Purpose of the service:

Help people get into suitable and stable accommodation, acting as a stepping stone between supported and private accommodation.

Our social care client needs a Floating Support Worker to provide housing-related support to vulnerable ex-homeless clients, to ensure they maintain their tenancy and prepare for independent living. You will support 20-25 clients across London, with visit frequency depending on their needs. This role offers community engagement and support to those who need it most.

The clients have diverse support needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues, and low independence. Your role involves helping them improve their living conditions, gain skills, and maintain their properties. Patience, perseverance, and motivation are essential in managing your caseload.

  • Travel costs during working hours will be reimbursed.
  • Availability to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00.
Duties:
  • Manage a caseload of 20-25 clients with varying needs.
  • Schedule and conduct client appointments.
  • Write clear weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist clients with budgeting and financial advice.
  • Support clients in obtaining and maintaining tenancies, reporting damages, and managing finances.
  • Foster positive landlord-tenant relationships.
  • Provide emotional support.
  • Encourage clients to participate in hobbies, appointments, and employment or training opportunities.
  • Promote community engagement and independence, teaching life skills.
