Job summary

A community support organization in Northern Ireland seeks a dedicated support worker to assist individuals facing substance misuse and mental health challenges. Candidates must have at least three GCSEs, an NVQ Level III in Health & Social Care, and two years of relevant experience. This role will provide one-to-one support within the Western Health & Social Care Trust area, contributing to the well-being of vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language.
  • NVQ Level III in Health & Social Care OR relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Work or Housing Care.
  • 2 years experience supporting families, particularly with substance misuse and mental health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to service users with varying needs.
  • Assist individuals with substance misuse and mental health issues.
  • Work within the Western Health & Social Care Trust area.

Skills

RCGSCEs at grade C or above

Job description

You will work as part of team providing one to one support to service users with a range of needs, in particular substance misuse issues, mental health issues and those at risk of offending behaviour within the Western Health & Social Care Trust area.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language
  • NVQ Level III (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care OR relevant equivalent qualification in Social Work, Community Work or Housing Care
  • 2 years recent experience providing support to families and singles over 18 years old, particularly those with substance misuse issues, mental health issues and those at risk of offending behaviour
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car. (if disability prohibits driving, the applicant must be able to organise suitable alternative arrangements)
  • It should be noted that the criteria for this post may be enhanced to facilitate short listing
