Job summary

Leading Edge Aviation is a leading commercial pilot training school based at Oxford Campus, seeking a flexible Operations Assistant to support the daily Flying Programme. This permanent role is 37.5 hours per week, with a rota including weekends, reporting to the Operations Manager.

The Operations team ensures safe, efficient delivery of training activities, aircraft movements, and regulatory compliance across airside operations.

Qualifications

• Flexible, highly organised candidate to join the Operations team.
• Responsible for safe and efficient delivery of the daily flying programme.
• Able to commit to the role for at least 12 months and work on a rota including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily Flying Programme and liaise with FI’s, students and internal/external agencies.
• Assist in scheduling aircraft, simulator and briefing sessions in line with regulations and procedures.
• Ensure accurate records are kept for events and timings.
• Process Instructor duty and rest records per the Operations Manual.
• Maintain up-to-date aircraft position and status information.
• Coordinate weather awareness and serviceability of enroute/terminal facilities affecting routes.
• Assist in submitting Flight Plans to achieve the flying programme for students.
• Ensure compliance with regulations including flight time limits in coordination with Operations Manager.
• Lead in case of flight disruption and coordinate with the Operations Manager.
• Liaise with London Oxford Airport operations to deliver the Flying Programme.
• Organise refuelling with Ramp and Airport Operations when required.
• Maintain aircraft documentation and flight bags.
• Manage aircraft movements at the home airport with Ramp, ATC and engineering.
• Coordinate with ATC to achieve the flying programme and update Flight Logger.
• Be aware of maintenance schedules and coordinate ad hoc maintenance.
