Job description

Flight Dispatch Coordinator

Location: Humberside

Contract: Fixed Term 18 Months (Mon-Fri, 0800am – 1600pm)

2Excel Aviation Ltd is an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation’s most complex challenges. Our success is based on the talented and experienced people who make up our workforce.

We are seeking a Flight Dispatch Coordinator to join our excellent and diverse Operations team based in Humberside. This role is on a fixed-term contract; however, there is a possibility of the role being made permanent for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Flight Dispatch Coordinator is tasked with supporting the centralised Operations team with the processes associated with running a complex and diverse flying programme. The role is primarily based at Humberside Airport but may require occasional work from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to support a surge in flying operations from the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Committed to the highest standards of flight safety and commercial awareness.
  • In case of an emergency, assist the centralised Operations team with initiating the company's Emergency Response or Business Continuity Plans.
  • Ensure that any potential policy breaches are swiftly reported to the relevant Operations or Ground Handling Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all departments to ensure no impact to the flying program.
  • Act as the local Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Administrator, under direction from the centralised administrator.
  • In coordination with the aircrew, ensure that all Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) are fully updated, with the correct Apps installed before departure.
  • Support the centralised EFB Administrator by ensuring that all aircraft possess the correct EFB infrastructure e.g., correct cables, mounts, and applicable chargers.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of aircraft from Humberside, printing paperwork, liaising with Air Traffic Control, Airfield Operations, and the on-site refuelling team as required.
  • Timely liaison with Centralised Operations to ensure that flight plans are ready to support departing aircraft.
  • Assist with problem-solving and providing solutions to any issues that may arise that may impede the flying programme.
  • Correlation of all post-flight documentation and coordination of transfer back to Centralised Operations.
  • Update company operating base documentation and equipment such as dispatch computers, charts, maps, and other sources of aeronautical information.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested by management within the capability of the incumbent.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong academic achievement, typically to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • At least one year’s experience in a flight operations environment or dispatcher is desirable.
  • Knowledge of civilian aircrew/commercial aviation rules and regulations is desirable.
  • Needs to be articulate with high attention to detail and can build credible, trusting relationships both within and outside of their own department.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Applicants must also be able to successfully pass a company-sponsored Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) and/or Security Check (SC) Clearance.
Skills & Behaviours
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a proven record of managing change, complexity, and ambiguity.
  • Self-starting and motivated individual with a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT literacy and a capable user of the full Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Apple iOS.
  • Works on own initiative, requiring minimal guidance from their Manager or Supervisor.
  • Continually and pro-actively seek new ways of working to improve overall business performance.
  • High level of energy and self-motivation, often working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary dependent on previous experience, generous holiday allowance, private health care, salary sacrifice electric car scheme, and a company pension.
