This role is an exciting opportunity to work into theNewcastle GP Services (NGPS) Flexible Workforce Hub (Flexipool). Flexipool is anew and expanding active bank of clinical and non-clinical staff, coveringmultiple roles within General Practice. The aim of Flexipool is to provideflexible working into Primary Care, to cover planned leave, existing vacanciesand short-notice unplanned absence across General Practice in Newcastle.
Joining the Flexipool team provides an opportunity to workinto Primary Care across Newcastle in a way that suits you and yourcommitments, in addition to access to training, development and support. TheFlexipool can act as a gateway into primary care if you are new to working inhealthcare, or as a flexible working option if you work part time or haverecently retired, and would like to stay involved and continue to develop your skills.
This role is offered on a 0 hours contract, and workinghours are flexible and negotiable depending on your availability and practicevacancies. The job location will be varied across practices and services inNewcastle, and we will work with you to match an appropriate role to yourlocation preferences. You will be responsible for administrative functions, includingbut not limited to:
Reception duties providing a positive patientexperience, information, advice and signposting
Telephone receive and make telephone calls andrespond to voicemails as required
Handling clinical specimens ensuring correctdetails and appropriate handover
Appointments use GP systems to book, manageand cancel appointments
Patient record management record all patientcontacts and ensure timely and accurate data entry
Ensure escalation of issues or urgent clinicalcases to the appropriate person
Patient administration and filing supportpatients with paperwork, registration and record management
Results use of clinical systems to respond topatient result requests
Printing, scanning and photocopying ensuringinformation is uploaded to records
Workflow processing letters and ensuringcontinuity of care
Patient tasks and emails/E-consults
Prescriptions including repeat prescriptions
Handle sensitive and confidential information
Recognise and report issues relating tosafeguarding vulnerable children and adults
