Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for flexible treatment room sessions across Hawick in primary care environments. You will provide hands‑on support to nursing and clinical teams within GP clinics, ensuring smooth patient flow and consistent clinical support.

You will perform routine observations, wound care, ECGs and phlebotomy if trained, while maintaining accurate digital records and adapting to varied clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS settings.
• Confident performing routine clinical observations.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Adaptability to different clinic environments.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine clinical observations including BP, pulse and temperature.
• Support treatment room procedures such as wound care and dressings.
• Perform ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Update digital patient records in line with service protocols.
• Support clinicians with general duties where needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
