Job summary

Kent County Council’s Disabled Children’s Team East is hiring a dedicated Social Worker to manage a caseload of children in need and in care, and, if experienced, child protection cases across Thanet, Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable. You will work within a care pathway approach, delivering reports and maintaining records with accuracy.

The role requires excellent written English, strong organisation and IT skills, and the ability to engage with children, families and carers with integrity.

• Ability to engage with children, young people, families and carers with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children in need, children in care and, if experienced, child protection cases.
• Follow a care pathway from initial assessment through to permanency including adoption.
• Produce high-quality reports and maintain accurate records.
• Engage with children, families and carers with integrity and confidentiality.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and participate in supervision and professional development.
