Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in the Chester area. The role offers long-term or daily supply opportunities in a range of SEN schools, with 1:1 or small-group support and collaboration with teachers.

Applicants should have TA status and SEN experience, strong behaviour management, a patient approach, and personal care experience is desirable. All candidates will undergo an enhanced background check.

Qualifications

• TA status and experience in SEN settings.
• Based in the Chester area or have access to transport links.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• A patient and understanding approach.
• Personal care experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils.
• Supporting children and young adults with a range of additional needs.
• Working alongside teachers and support staff to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
• Helping students develop their social, emotional and academics skills.
• Supporting students with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Building positive and trusting relationships.
