Job summary

Aspire People Limited is looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in St Albans and surrounding areas on an ad hoc basis.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND, assist teachers, and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. This agency/temporary role offers flexible day-to-day assignments with start ASAP, subject to checks; travel to local schools required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND - essential.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
• A reliable and professional attitude.
• The flexibility to accept ad hoc assignments when available.
• The ability to travel to schools in St Albans and surrounding areas.
• Candidates with experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, sensory needs or complex learning needs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning objectives.
• Supporting pupils' communication, confidence and independence.
• Helping maintain a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapting your approach to meet individual pupil needs.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and behaviour management expectations.
