Job summary

Smile Education is actively recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across WR1 Worcester in a range of primary, secondary and specialist settings. The role involves 1:1 support, small group interventions and collaboration with teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have SEN experience or transferable care-related background, a calm and empathetic approach, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN TA experience preferred or transferable experience.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach with strong communication.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support small intervention groups.
• Assist children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN and learning difficulties.
• Implement strategies for emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Support personal development, communication and social interaction.
• Adapt learning activities to individual needs and monitor progress.
