Job summary

Hoop Recruitment LTD in Newport is seeking Teaching Assistants for flexible, on-site roles in secondary schools. You will support teachers and pupils, assist with lessons, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Candidates should have at least 3 months of relevant experience, an enhanced DBS, and registration with the EWC or willingness to register. Strong communication and organisational skills, plus a passion for helping young people, are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months of experience working with children or vulnerable individuals.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
• Registration with Education Workforce Council (or willingness to register).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude and passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers and pupils within secondary school classrooms.
• Assist with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Support pupils’ learning, confidence, and engagement.
• Promote a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
• Work alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Support pupil learning, well-being, and development.
